Stockton used a big second half to hand the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team a 17-4 loss in the season opener, Saturday.

The Ospreys scored nine goals in the fourth quarter to break open an 8-4 contest.

Jake Louis scored twice for Misericordia while Jack Simone had a goal and an assist and Ian Young added a goal.

Louis gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead early in the first quarter and tied game, 2-2, with his second goal late in the second period.

Down 4-2 early in the third period, Young scored a man-up goal.

After a Stockton goal, Simone scored midway through the third period to get within 5-4.

Stockton scored three times over the final 6:26 of the third and led 8-4 heading into the fourth quarter.
