The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team won its home opener, 14-6, over SUNY-Delhi, Saturday afternoon on Mangelsdorf Field.

Ian Young led the Cougars with three goals and two assists and
Patrick Dwyer had two goals and two assists.

Ty Murawski had two goals and an assist and
Jack Simone had two goals and five assists.

Leyton Sullivan made 12 saves to earn his first career win and Simone and Jack Dunphy both had five ground balls.

Down 4-2 less than a minute into the second quarter, the Cougars scored seven straight goals to take a 9-4 lead with 3:33 to play before halftime. Delhi scored once late in the second period.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Cougars put the game out of reach with five straight goals in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Franchi fired a low shot to beat the shot clock and Simone was part of three of the next four MU goals to make it 14-5.
