The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team used a big third quarter to defeat New Paltz, 10-5, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars broke a 2-2 with six goals in the third period.       Â

Ty Murawski had three goals and an assist and
Jack Simone added three goals.

Ian Young had a goal and two assists while
Patrick Dwyer scored twice and
Aiden D'Ambrosio had a goal and an assist.

Leyton Sullivan had another big day in net with 17 saves.

Jack Durphy had three ground balls and three caused turnovers and
William Troiano had five ground balls.

Young gave the Cougars a 3-2 lead with an unassisted goal with 13:31 to play in the third period and fired a shot just under the crossbar a little over a minute later.

Murawski scored twice in a little over a minute to extend MU's lead to 6-2 near the midway point of the third period.

After a New Paltz goal, Dwyer bounced in a shot less than a minute later and Simone juked a defender at the top of the circle before scoring inside the left post to make it 8-3 with 1:04 to play.

Murawski scored a man-up goal late in the fourth quarter and Simone scooped up a ground ball and scored on a breakaway with 2:26 remaining.
