Six different players scored goals to lead the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team to a 7-6 win at Marywood, Tuesday night.
Ian Young scored twice and
Jason Giambrone,
Jake Louis,
Lincoln Brayford,
Mark Kenny and
Ryan Franchi all added goals as the Cougars won their fifth straight game.
Brayford added five ground balls and
Jack Simone had two assists and five ground balls.
Leyton Sullivan made 13 saves in goal.
Young gave MU the lead with a goal midway through the opening quarter. Marywood tied just over a minute later and Young put the Cougars back in front with 2:54 to play in the first period.
Marywood pulled even early in the second quarter, but the Cougars scored three straight goals to go in front for good.
Giambrone scored a man-up goal with 8:32 to go before halftime and Brayford and Kenny scored just over a minute apart to make it 5-2.
After Marywood scored early in the third, Louis answered less than a minute later. Franchi made it 7-3 midway through the third quarter.
The Pacers scored the next three goals to get within 7-6 with 2:21 to play, the Cougars defense held them to just one shot the rest of the way.
