Bryan Henry's gem led the Misericordia University baseball team to a 3-1 win in the series opener with Stevens, Friday afternoon in Hoboken, NJ.
Henry scattered five hits while striking out 13 over eight innings and
Zak Lussier worked the ninth to secure his third straight save as the Cougars won their fifth straight game to improve to 14-7 overall and 7-0 in the MAC Freedom.
Shane Patten went 2-4 with two RBI and
Michael Duda added an RBI.
Stevens got on the board first in the bottom of the second, but Misericordia took the lead in its next at bat.
Brooks Kanwisher started the inning with a single through the right side and advanced to third when
Gavin Dillard blasted a ground-rule double.
Patten drove both of them in with a line drive single to right center.
The Cougars added an insurance run in the top of the ninth without a hit.
Owen Daminger was hit by a pitch to open the inning, and advanced to second on a throwing error. He moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a squeeze bunt.
