The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team recorded 17-6 win at Neumann University, Wednesday afternoon.
Ty Murawski led the Cougars with five goals while
Ian Young added four.
Jack Simone recorded seven points (2g 5a) and
Aiden D'Ambrosio posted six points (1g 5a).
The Cougars built a 4-1 lead after one period and never looked back.
Simone put the Cougars on the board first, recovering a ground ball and driving from the right side before scoring on the left to give Misericordia a 1-0 lead with nine minutes left in the first quarter.
Murawski followed, charging into the middle of the defense and converting a tough shot through contact to extend the lead.
Leading 2-1 with just under five minutes remaining in the quarter, D'Ambrosio and Young scored back-to-back goals within seconds of each other to push the advantage to 4-1 heading into the second.
The Cougars controlled the second quarter, outscoring the Knights 6-2.
Murawski tallied two goals in the period while Young,
William Troiano and
Mark Kenny each found the net, giving Misericordia a commanding 10-3 lead at halftime.
Misericordia slowed in the third quarter with its lone goal coming from
Patrick Dwyer, who wound up from the left wing and fired the ball into the back of the net with one second remaining.
The Cougars closed strong, outscoring the Knights 6-1 in the final quarter to secure the 17-6 victory.
Leyton Sullivan made four saves in 51 minutes to earn the win in net.
