Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Misericordia University softball team split a doubleheader to end its spring break trip, Friday in Melbourne, FL.
 
The Cougars edged Rose-Hulman, 2-1, in eight innings, but fell to RPI, 7-0.
 
Gianna Foreman hit a game-winning double in the bottom of the eighth inning and Kailana Auchey and Emmalee Mowery both had two hits.
 
Gabby Cruz picked up the win with one scoreless inning of relief.
 
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth.  Sammie Gillick reached on a one-out single and pinch-runner Edna Kiefer moved to second when Bridget Doherty reached on an error.
 
Kiersten Tinio singled to center to load the bases and Gianna Russo singled to right to give MU the lead.
 
Rose-Hulman tied it in the top of the sixth.
 
Russo was placed on the second base to start the eighth inning and Foreman doubled to center to drive in the winning run.
