The Misericordia University baseball team lost to DeSales, 5-3, Friday afternoon at Tambur Field.
Owen Cordner had two hits and two RBI and
Gavin Dillard had two hits and scored twice while
Joe Peters had two hits and drove in a run.
DeSales once in the first inning, twice in the second and twice in the fourth to take an early 5-0 lead.
Misericordia got two runs back in the bottom of the fourth.
Bryant Diaz led off with a single into right field. Dillard walked and Peters singled through the right side to drive in a run. Cordner singled up the middle to make it 5-2.score one more, and Misericordia cut DeSales lead to 5-2.
Misericordia loaded the bases with one out in the sixth inning on consecutive singles by
Shane Patten, Dillard and Peters, but was unable to score.
The Cougars got the potential tying run to the plate in the ninth. Â Dillard ripped a double down the left field line and Peters reached on an error Cordner drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, but DeSales escaped further trouble.
