The Misericordia University baseball team outslugged Scranton, 21-14, Wednesday at Tambur Field.

The Cougars banged out 23 hits while scoring in each of the first six innings.

Bryant Diaz had four hits with an RBI four runs scored.
Gavin Dillard added four hits with an RBI and four runs scored.
Shane Patten and
Michael Duda both had three hits and for RBI and
Owen Cordner had three hits and two runs scored.

Ben St. Pierre had two hits and three RBI.

Owen Fogel picked up the win with five strikeouts and one run allowed in 3.1 innings of relief..

Scranton scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but Misericordia responded with two runs in the bottom half. An infield single by
Owen Daminger plated one and
Joe Peters singled to center field to get MU within a run.

The Cougars offense exploded for six runs in the second inning. Diaz singled up the middle to score one and Patten singled through the right side to plate two more. A squeeze bunt by Daminger scored one more and a
Ben St. Pierre single up the middle drove in a pair to give the Cougars an 8-3 lead.

Scranton tied it in the third inning, but MU went ahead for good with seven runs in the bottom of the frame. A ground out from Cordner scored one and a Dillard single through the middle added another run. St. Pierre and
Drew Van Horn were both hit by pitches to bring two more runs home and Duda blasted a three-run double to give the Cougars a 15-8 lead.

Peters single to left center drove in a run in the fourth to extend the lead to 16-11.

Patten singled up the middle in the fifth inning to drive in a pair and Duda doubled in a run and Cordner singled in a run in the seventh to make it 21-11
