Cougars Complete Sweep of King's

The Misericordia University baseball team swept King's, 4-2 and 13-3, Monday afternoon at Wilkes.  The Cougars extended their win streak to 10 straight while improving to 12-0 in the MAC Freedom.
 
Michael Duda had a hit and two RBI in the opener and Joe Peters added a hit with a RBI.
 
Jase Seltzer worked 2.2 innings of relief to improve to 5-0 and Zak Lussier worked a perfect seventh to pick up his sixth save.
 
Misericordia took the lead with two runs in the second inning. Owen Daminger was hit by a pitch and moved to second  Peters' bunt single.  Duda slapped an RBI-single Ben St. Pierre made it 2-0 with an RBI- ground out .
 
King's tied the game in the third inning, but the Cougars responded in the fourth inning. Owen Cordner walk and later scored on Duda's sacrifice fly.
 
The Cougars added an insurance run in the sixth inning. Daminger led off the inning with a single and eventually scored on Peters' sacrifice fly.
 
Daminger had two hits, three RBI and scored three runs in the nightcap and Bryant Diaz added two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
 
Max Kneidinger picked up his second win, throwing six innings with no earned runs and three strike outs and got help from three relievers.
 
St. Pierre led off the game with a single to right field and went to third on Gavin Dillard's double down the left field line. Shane Patten knocked in the first run on a RBI single to left field and Diaz hit a sacrifice fly to score another run. Daminger smacked a double down the left field line to extend the Cougars lead to 3-0.
 
King's scored a run in the bottom of the third inning, but Misericordia responded in the fifth inning. Diaz walked and later scored on Daminger's single to left field. Duda hit another sacrifice fly to extend Misericordia's lead to 5-1.
 
Misericordia scored in each of the final four innings to break the game open.
