Cheyenne Benson has been named the head women's lacrosse coach at Misericordia University, Chuck Edkins, Executive Director of Athletics & Recreation, has announced.
Â
Benson spent the last year as an assistant coach at Messiah University after eight seasons as the head coach at Elizabethtown High School and the Lanco Elite Lacrosse Club.Â
Â
"I am pleased to welcome
Cheyenne Benson to the Misericordia University women's lacrosse program and campus community," said Edkins. "Her experience, knowledge and passion for the game will be a tremendous benefit to our student-athletes."
Â
At Messiah, Benson helped the Falcons to a runner-up finish in the MAC Commonwealth in 2026 and a first-round victory in the NCAA Tournament. She participated in all aspects of program operation, including recruiting, player development, practice planning and game preparation.
Â
During her tenure at Elizabethtown, she guided the Bears through a program rebuild that included the first section championship and first playoff victories in program history. In addition, Benson helped develop a two-time USA Lacrosse All-American and was named the 2025 USA Lacrosse Central Pennsylvania Coach of the Year.
She takes over a Misericordia program that finished 9-8 overall and qualified for the MAC Freedom championships.
"I am excited for the opportunity to lead the Misericordia women's lacrosse program as it continues to strive to compete at a high level in the MAC Freedom," said Benson. "I'm looking forward to building strong relationships with our student-athletes, continue raising the standard of the program and pursuing championships together while creating an environment our players are proud to be a part of."
