Jason Morini is in his eighth season as head swim coach at Misericordia where he also serves as aquatics director.
In 2010-11, the women's team was 8-5 and finished second at the MAC championships for the second straight season while the men's team went 6-5 and finished third at the MAC meet.
The teams combined to win 10 events at the MAC's and set 16 school records.
Morini has guided the men's and women's teams to a combined 99-64 record over seven years.
Morini previously served as head coach at Division I Canisius College where he helped the women’s team establish five school records at the 2004 MAAC championships.
He has also served as an assistant coach at Ithaca College where he helped the men’s team to the first conference championship in school history in 2001.
Morini holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Ithaca where he was a four-year letterman and served as team captain as a senior.
He earned his master’s degree in professional studies in community service administration from Alfred.
In addition, Morini worked several years at the Richard Quick National Swim Camp - the late coach at Stanford University also served as a three-time U.S. Olympic coach.
Morini will be assisted by former MU standout
Eddie Halloran, who set three school records in two seasons.
