Cougars Drop Home Game to Utica, 14-5

The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team lost 14-5 to Utica in a nonconference game Saturday.

 

Lee Blair led the Cougars with two goals in the loss. Sean McGuigan, Pat McTague and Tim Bojanowski each added a goal.

 

Utica took an early 1-0 lead in the first quarter, but McGuigan's goal knotted it back up at 1-1 with 6:32 left to play in the quarter.

 

Down 3-1, McTague netted a goal with 31 seconds to play in the first.

 

Blair evened the score with 14:32 on the clock in the second quarter, but the Cougars were never able to take a lead. Utica scored two before Bojanowski was able to score in the third. Blair's final goal came in the final quarter.

 

James Scott played the majority of the game in the cage. He recorded 13 saves before being pulled for Ryan Kay, who saved six.

 

The Cougars play at Mt. St. Vincent Wednesday.
