The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team improved to 2-2 with a 17-11 win over Arcadia University Saturday.
Nicole DeAngelis led with six goals to increase her season total to a team-best 24. Shannon Tinkham added four, and Jamie Wargo, Jesse Schwenk and Natasha Jankowsky each scored a pair. Jankowsky recorded the team's only assist.
The Cougars got on the board first with a goal by Wargo with 29:01 to play in the first half. Wargo followed up with the team's second goal four minutes later.
With 16:19 to play, DeAngelis scored her first goal. 12 seconds later, she recorded her second to increase the Cougars' lead to 5-1.
Jankowsky scored a pair of goals in the final 12 minutes of the half to give the Cougars a 8-4 edge at halftime.
DeAngelis scored quickly in the second half to re-establish dominance, and followed three minutes later with another blow to put the Cougars up 10-4.
The Cougars outscored the Knights 9-7 in the second half and never surrendered the lead. Kathryn Wallace made 13 total saves to protect the lead. She played the entire game in the cage.
The Cougars return to action Monday night, as they host Chestnut Hill in a 4 p.m. showdown.
