The Misericordia University baseball team won its fourth straight game with a 6-5 13-inning win at Widener, Sunday.
After singling with one out in the 13th,
Nate Newman stole two bases and scored on
Andrew Yasinski's suicide squeeze.
Patrick Clark worked five innings of shutout relief to pick up his first career win.
Newman had four hits to lead MU's 18-hit attack while
Mike D'Amara had three hits and three RBI.
Mike Murphy had two hits, including a triple, and
Brandon Calafut and
Bubba Jasinski both added two hits.
MU grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second on
Cody Hack's RBI-double.
After falling behind, 2-1, Calafut's single tied the score in the fifth and D'Amara put MU ahead 4-2 with a two-run, two-run single in the sixth.
The Cougars added an insurance run in the eighth when Murphy led off with a triple and came home on D'Amara's single.
Widener scored once in the bottom of the eighth and scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.
Misericordia is 9-6 and will visit Penn State-Berks, Wednesday.
