Lee Blair gave the Misericordia men's lacrosse team an early 1-0 lead, but it was short-live as Lycoming scored nine straight goals on the way to a 17-5 win, Wednesday at Mangelsdorf Field.
Blair led the Cougars with two goals and an assist and
Pat McTague added a goal and two assists.
Josh Schwartz had a goal and an assist and
Matt Gonzalez added a goal.
Blair scored with an assist from McTague in the opening minute, but the Warriors tallied six unanswered goals to take a 6-1 hafltime lead.
Lyco opened the third quarter with three more goals before Blair scored again to make it 9-2 with 9:24 remaining in the quarter.
Matt Gonzalez followed with a goal a minute later off another McTague assist to make it 9-3.
Lycoming closed the period with four consecutive goals for a 13-3 lead with one quarter remaining.
Schwartz scored two minutes into the fourth with an assist from Blair and McTague closed the scoring with an assist from Schwartz with 2:40 left in the game.
Misericordia, 2-4, will visit Messiah, Saturday at 7:00.
