MU Women Fall to Elmira

The Misericordia women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-8 non-conference decision to Elmira, Sunday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Kate Pagnotta led the Cougars with three goals and Emily Foley added two scores.

Erika Proctor made 12 saves in goal.

Elmira led 2-0 after 10 minutes before Brooke North found Colleen Hunt in front of the net to cut the deficit in half with 16:02 left in the first half.

After an Elmira goal, Pagnotta took a nice pass from Jenny Perucca to make it 3-2 with 8:36 to go.

The Soaring Eagles closed the period with three goals in the final minute to take a 6-2 halftime lead.

Elmira made it 7-2 in the opening minute of the second half before Foley answered with a low shot from the left side just 30 seconds later.

After two straight Elmira goals, North scored on a free position shot to make it 9-4 with 25:04 remaining.

Elmira scored twice before Foley converted a free position shot and the Soaring Eagles stretched the lead to 14-5 with three goals in a four-minute span.

Gabriella Cerrone scored a short-handed goal for the Cougars and Pagnotta added two goals in the closing minutes.

Misericordia, 3-4, will host Lebanon Valley, Thursday.
