The Misericordia women's lacrosse team dropped a 25-15 decision to King's, Tuesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Gabriella Cerrone led Misericordia with three goals and two assists while
Krista Shenk and
Melina Juliano added three goals and one assist each.
MU took an early lead when
Emily Foley found
Colleen Hunt in front of the net in the opening minute.
After King's tied it, Cerrone took a pass from Shenk on the left side and gave the Cougars a 2-1 lead just over three minutes into the game.
King's scored five straight goals to take a 6-2 lead midway through the opening period.
tied it a minute later and
Emily Foley put the Cougars ahead with a free position shot with 23:55 to go.
Cerrone broke the streak when she came from behind the net and turned and shot to make it 6-3 with 15:15 to go.
After a King's goal,
Emily Foley and Shenk both scored on free position shots to get within 7-5 with 12:05 to play in the half.
King's went ahead 9-5 before Cerrone forced a turnover in her own defensive end and raced the length of the field to make it 9-6.
Down 11-6, Shenk made a nice move on a free position shot to get within 11-7 with 7:38 remaining.
Juliano took a draw control and raced down the middle of the field before firing a shot into the upper right corner.
King's scored twice over the final 6:45, including a buzzer beater to take a 14-8 lead at halftime.
Misericordia fell to 4-8 (0-2).
