The Misericordia women's lacrosse team lost to Alvernia, 21-12, Monday at Mangelsdorf Field.
Melina Juliano scored five goals and
Brooke North and
Emily Foley added three points each.
Alvernia scored the first two goals, but Juliano answered their second goal with one to make it 2-1. After another Crusader goal and a yellow card to put MU a man-up,
Kate Pagnotta found North for a goal to make it 2-3. Juliano followed that with a free position goal to tie it at three halfway through the first half.
Alvernia scored three unanswered goals but Pagnotta and Juliano answered with a goal each to make it 6-5 with 10 minutes left in the half.
Krista Shenk scored a goal with five minutes remaining in the first half to make it 13-6, Alvernia, at halftime.
To open the second half, the teams traded goals until it was 16-9, Alvernia. Then the Crusaders scored five of the last eight goals to end the game up 21-12.
MU is now 4-6, and will open Freedom Conference play when they travel to FDU-Florham on Wednesday.
