The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team had its 10-game winning streak snapped with a heartbreaking 8-7, double-overtime loss to FDU-Florham, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.
The Cougars rallied from a 4-0 deficit to take a 7-5 lead with five minutes to play in regulation.
Sean McGuigan, Nick Santillo and Pat McTague all had two goals and an assist for the Cougars.
Pat Johnson made 11 saves in goal.
FDU-Florham jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period and neither team found the back of the net in the second quarter.
The Cougars finally got on the board when McTague found Santillo for a man-up goal with 5:56 to play in the third quarter.
After a lengthy weather delay, the Cougars rallied for two goals late in the third period.
McTague made it 4-2 with 2:25 to go and Santillo found Reynolds to get MU within 4-3 with 1:39 left in the quarter.
The Cougars kept the momentum as McTague took a nice pass in front of the net from
Lee Blair and knotted the score at 4-4 less than a minute into the fourth quarter.
McGuigan found Santillo for a two-man advantage goal with 11:27 to play.
After FDU tied it with 7:01 to go, McGuigan picked up a groundball in front of the cage and put MU back in front, 6-5, less than 30 seconds later.
Drew Abatangelo took a clearing pass and raced down the right side before finding McGuigan who put MU in front 7-5 with 5:21 to go.
The Devils to within 7-6 with 1:58 to play and tied it at 7-7 with just 21 seconds to go.
Misericordia, 11-2 (2-1), will visit King's, Wednesday at 7:00.
