Melina Juliano and
Emily Foley combined to score nine goals, but it wasn't enough, as the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team dropped its season finale at Arcadia, 17-12.
Juliano led the Cougars with five goals and an assist and Foley had four goals while
Krista Shenk,
Sydnie Battle and
Colleen Hunt all scored a goal.
Battle gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead with a goal just over 90 seconds into the game.
After Arcadia took a 2-1 lead, Hunt tied it with a free position shot with 19:01 to play in the first half.
The Scarlet Knights scored three straight before Shenk and Foley responded to get MU within 5-4 with 3:02 to go.
Arcadia scored less than 30 seconds later to take a 6-4 halftime lead.
The Knights opened the second half with three straight goals and used a 5-0 spurt over an eight-minute span to take a 15-7 lead with 9:37 to play.
Misericordia finished 6-10 overall and 2-4 in the Freedom.
