The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team lost to York, 18-6, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Matt Gonzalez,
Kyle Calabro, Nick Santillo,
Sean McGuigan,
Jared Hunt and
Trevor Bodnar all scored for MU.
York grabbed a 1-0 lead in the opening minute and Calabro tied it when he whipped a shot from the left wing just over two minutes later.
The Spartans scored four times in the final 4:03 of the opening quarter and added two goals in the final 4:20 of the second period to take a 7-1 halftime lead.
Trailing 12-1, Bodnar bounced in a shot with 3:07 to go in the third quarter.
After an unassisted goal by Hunt, McGuigan finished off a nice feed from
Adam Lenhard for a man-up goal to make it 13-4 with 9:18 to play.
Santillo ripped a shot from the top of the circle for a man-up goal with 4:08 remaining and Gonzalez ended MU's scoring when he drove the left side and fired a shot inside the right post with 2:32 to go.
Drew Abatangelo and
Matt Martins led the Cougars with three groundballs each.
Misericordia, 4-3, plays at Utica, Friday.
