The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team opened the season with a 15-9 loss to Emerson, Tuesday in Hilton Head, SC.

Alexandra Elmes and Melina Juliano had two goals and an assist and Kate Pagnotta added two goals to lead the Cougars.

Catie Viegas, Brooke North, Jenny Perucca all added goals while Emily Hegner had a pair of assists.

Stephanie Piser had a team-high eight ground balls.

Erika Proctor had 11 saves in goal.

MU will face Adrian, Thursday in Hilton Head.
