The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team fell to Arcadia 17-11 in its season finale on Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Jenny Perucca and
Melina Juliano each scored three goals to lead the Cougars (0-16, 0-6 Freedom) while
Emily Hegner and
Brooke North added two goals apiece.
In a game that was a defensive battle early on,
Kate Pagnotta gave MU an early 1-0 lead with 22:23 remaining.
Arcadia (13-4, 5-1) rallied quickly, getting two goals each from Dawn Faranetta and Haylee Molloy to jump out to a 4-1 advantage.
Perucca's first goal cut the deficit to just two goals, but Molloy responded with two more goals and Jaclyn Feffer added one before a Juliano goal with 4:43 remaining in the half sent the Cougars into the break trailing 7-3.
Another Feffer goal extended the Arcadia advantage to 8-3 and, following a Juliano goal, Meghan Fallon added two more to push the lead to 10-4.
The Cougars battle back, scoring four of the next five goals to cut the deficit to 11-8, but they would get no closer as Arcadia pulled away for the win.
Prior to the game, the Cougars honored lone senior
