The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-7 decision to the University of Scranton, Wednesday.
Catie Viegas,
Brooke North and
Emily Hegner all scored twice for MU while
Alexandra Elmes had a goal and an assist.
Jenny Perucca had three caused turnovers and four groundballs and
Alison Sacco added two caused turnovers and five groundballs.
Hegner added four groundballs and
Erika Proctor made nine saves.
Scranton built an 8-0 lead over the first 20 minutes before Viegas scored an unassisted goal with 7:47 left in the first half.
North made it 8-2 with an assist from Elmes with 5:49 to go before halftime.
After Scranton scored three straight goals to open the second half, North scored on a free position shot with 11:50 remaining.
A Scranton goal made it 12-3 and Hegner scored two consecutive free position goals to get MU within 12-5 with 5:05 to play.
Elmes scored unassisted with 4:41 remaining and Viegas added a man-up goal with to cut the deficit to 12-7 with 2:42 to go.
