Box Score The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-11 decision to Lebanon Valley, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Allie Elmes had three goals for the Cougars while
Melina Juliano and
Emily Hegner both added two scores. Jeny Perucca had a goal and an assist.
The Cougars took an early lead on
Jenny Perucca's free-position goal just two minutes into the game.
After Lebanon Valley answered with two straight goals, Juliano raced down the middle and took a feed from Perucca from behind the net to tie it, 2-2, at 22:58.
Elmes put the Cougars back in front with a free-position goal at 21:28, but the Dutchmen scored three straight goals to take a 5-3 lead.
Emily Hegner charged down the left side of the lane to get MU within a goal, but LVC answered with five straight goals to take a 10-4 lead with 5:14 to play in the first half.
Elmes made a nice move to avoid two defenders at the top of the circle and drove down the middle to make it 10-5, but Leb Val scored three more times before halftime to take a 13-5 lead.
Kate Pagnotta opened the second half with a free-position goal, but LVC scored three straight goals to go up, 16-6, with 14:27 remaining.
Hegner started a 4-0 MU run with an unassisted goal and
Brooke North followed with a man-up goal.
Liz Mulvey and Elmes both scored free-position goals to cut the margin to 16-10, with 8:23 to play.
After the Dutchmen scored four consecutive goals, Juliano tallied MU's final goal with 1:21 to go.
Misericordia will host Alvernia, Tuesday.
