Box Score The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team dropped a tough 19-17 decision at Albright, Monday.
Melina Juliano led the Cougars with four goals and three assists and
Kate Pagnotta added three goals and an assist, including the 100th goal of her career.
Liz Mulvey and
Jenny Perucca both added three goals and
Emily Hegner scored twice.
Katie McLoughlin made 10 saves for the Cougars.
Rachael Taylor led the Cougars with five ground balls and
Brooke North and Allie Elmes both had five draw controls.
Down 11-10 at halftime, the Cougars fell behind 15-10 early in the second half, before scoring six straight goals.
Perucca scored on a free position shot and Mulvey and Juliano scored less than a minute apart to get within 15-13 with just under 18 minutes remaining.
Perucca followed with a man-up goal and Juliano tied it with a free position shot at 12:18 and Perucca put the Cougars ahead with another man-up goal at 10:36.
Albright answered with four straight goals over the next seven minutes to take a 19-16 lead.
Albright opened a 7-2 lead over the first 11 minutes before MU scored three straight goals.
Hegner scored a man-up goal and Pagnotta became the sixth Misericordia player to eclipse the 100-career goal mark at 16:13. Pagnotta scored again less than 30 seconds later to get within 7-5.
The Lions scored four consecutive goals to take an 11-5 lead before MU closed the half with five goals to go into halftime down 11-10.
