Box Score The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team fell to Swarthmore College 10-5, Saturday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.
Swarthmore jumped out to an early 4-0 lead on goals before
Jack Stang found the upper right corner of the net with a blistering shot to bring the Cougars to within 4-1 with 7:56 left in the first half.
Swarthmore answered Stang's with four more of their own giving the Garnet an 8-1 lead with 11:21 left in the third quarter.
Lane Kocovsky then brought the Cougars to within 8-2, but again Swarthmore answered extending its lead to 9-2 with 6:40 left in the third.
Ryan Cannon,
Nicholas Santillo and
Sean Forsyth all scored goals helping the Cougars close the game on a 4-1 run, but Swartmore emerged with the 10-5 victory.
With the loss, MU falls to 4-4 while Swarthmore improves to 3-4.
The Cougars will be back in action, Wednesday afternoon for their Freedom Conference opener against FDU-Florham at 4:00.
