Box Score The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team closed the season with its third straight win, 19-6, at Manhattanville, Saturday.
The win wasn't enough as the Cougars finished in a three-way for third in the Freedom Conference with King's and FDU-Florham, but lost on tiebreaking criteria to both teams.
Andrew Reynolds MU with six goals and
Lane Kocovsky added four.
Nick Santillo had three goals and
Devin Velekei scored twice.
Pat Johnson made 12 saves in goal to earn the win.
Reynolds scored three unassisted goals as the Cougars built a 4-0 lead in the quarter.
Manhattanville rallied to tie it, 4-4, with 6:32 left in the second period, but the Cougars answered with another four-goal spurt before halftime.
Trevor Bodnar and Kocovsky scored unassisted goals and Kocovsky found Santillo to make it 7-4 with less than a minute to play in the first half.
Kocovsky added an unassisted goal just before the buzzer to stretch the lead to 8-4.
Kyle Purvis and Reynolds scored early in the third quarter to give the Cougars a 10-4 lead.
Following a Manhattanville score, the Cougars put the game out of reach with three goals over the final 10 minutes of the third quarter.
Jared Hunt scored a man-up goal and Reynolds scored twice to make it 13-5 with 4:14 to play in the third period.
Kocovsky and Velekei added a pair of goals in the fourth quarter.
Misericordia finished 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the Freedom Conference.
