Box Score Melina Juliano had four goals and four assists and
Liz Mulvey added four goals as the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team clinched a Freedom Conference post-season berth with a 22-11 win over Manhattanville, Saturday afternoon at McGeehan Field.
Brooke North added three goals and
Jenny Perucca, Allie Elmes,
Erin Baker and
Catie Viegas all scored twice as the Cougars improved to 7-8 overall and 4-2 in the Freedom Conference.
Katie McLoughlin made eight saves in goal.
Perucca and Juliano scored less than a minute apart to give MU an early 2-0 lead.
Juliano was part of all four goals during a 4-0 run to give the Cougars a 7-2 lead midway through the first half.
After assisting on goals by Viegas and Mulvey, Juliano scored twice in a 70-second span with 16:19 to play.
Following a Manhattanville goal, Baker and Elmes both scored twice as MU closed the half on a 7-0 spurt to take a 13-3 lead.
Manhattanville scored four of the first five goals of the second half to pull within 15-7, but the Valiants never got closer.
Juliano and Mulvey answered with back-to-back goals and the Cougars maintained an eight-goal margin the rest of the way.
Misericordia's Caroline Klee added her first goal of the season in the final minute.
Misericordia will travel to Wilkes for the first round of the Freedom Championships, Wednesday.
