MU Rally Comes Up Short at King's

Box Score A fourth-quarter rally came up short as the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team fell at King's, 10-8, Wednesday night.

Down 8-4 after three periods, MU scored four goals over the final 15 minutes, but ran out of time.

Andrew Reynolds led the Cougars with four goals while Trevor Bodnar, Lane Kocovsky, Jack Stang and Kyle Purvis all added goals.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first quarter, the Cougars rallied with three straight goals in a three-minute span to take the lead.

Stang got MU on the board off a feed from Bodnar with 7:56 to play and Reynolds scored with an assist from Stang less than a minute later.

Reynolds scored unassisted to put MU in front, 3-2, with 5:16 to go in the period.

Bodnar scored unassisted to open the second period, but King's scored three unanswered goals over the final 7:40 to take a 5-4 halftime lead.

The Monarchs added three goals in the third quarter to take an 8-4 lead.

Reynolds led the Cougars with six groundballs while Steve Dallicardillo, Lane Kocovsky, Jared Hunt and Sean Forsyth all added for groundballs.

Dallicardillo had a team-high six caused turnovers.

Patrick Johnson and Josh Shanker combined for 11 saves.

MU will travel to Eastern, Saturday.
