Second Half Spurt Lifts Lyco Women Over MU

Box Score The Lycoming women's lacrosse team used five straight goals to open the second half on the way to a 13-8 win at Misericordia, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Allie Elmes led MU with four goals while Melina Juliano added three.

Erin Baker scored once for the Cougars

Katie McLoughlin made 10 saves in net.

Lycoming opened the game with three goals in the first four minutes before Elmes got MU on the board with a free position goal seven minutes into the game.

Juliano drove the middle to make it 3-2 with 21:19 to play in the first half.

After a Lycoming score, Elmes bounced an 8-meter shot inside the left post to make it 4-3 midway through the half.

The Warriors scored twice to take a 6-3 lead, but Juliano answered with two goals in less than a minute to pull within 6-5.

Lycoming opened the second half with five straight goals to pull ahead 11-5 with 19:30 remaining.

Elmes scored back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to 11-7, but the Warriors responded with two scores to make it 13-7.

Baker added an unassisted goal with 5:08 to go.

Misericordia, 2-6, will host Rosemont, Monday.
