Box Score The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team ended the regular season with a tough 13-11 loss to FDU-Florham, Saturday at McGeehan Field.

Brooke North led the Cougars with five goals and Erin Baker and Melina Juliano added two goals and an assist each.

Katie McLoughlin made 11 saves in goal in a losing cause.

Allie Elmes had a team-high six ground balls and four draw controls while Juliano added three caused turnovers and four draw controls.

Baker converted a turnover deep in the FDU-Florham end into a goal to forge a 10-10 tie with 9:31 to play.

FDU closed the game with a 3-1 spurt over the final 7:31.

Elmes opened the scoring with a free position shot inside the right post and North slipped a shot under the bar for a 2-0 led six minutes into the game.

McLoughlin stopped a free position shot at 21:00 but the Devils finally got on the board with a short-handed goal four minutes later.

Baker raced down the right side from midfield and fired a shot into the upper left corner for a 3-1 lead with 14:07 left in the half.

The Devils had a shot carom of the left post and McLoughlin stopped two more free position shots, but FDU still managed to score four straight goals to take a 5-3 lead with 5:12 to play.

MU responded with a 4-0 run of their own.

Mulvey found North camped on the right post and Juliano tied it 5-5 with a free position goal.

North added a pair of goals in the final minute to give the Cougars a 7-5 halftime lead.

FDU-Florham outscored the Cougars 5-2 over the first 20 minutes of the second half to take a 10-9 lead.

Taylor Simeone had three groundballs and two caused turnovers and Ashley Hobbs had three groundballs.  Stephanie Piser added three caused turnovers.

Misericordia ended the regular season at 8-8 and in second place in the Freedom at 5-1.

The Cougars will host a Freedom semifinal, Wednesday at Mangelsdorf Field.
