MU Men's Lacrosse Hosting Freedom Semi

The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team will open the Freedom Conference championships when they host FDU-Florham in a semifinal, Wednesday at 7:00 at Mangelsdorf Field.

Misericordia, the second seed, is making their second Freedom Conference championships appearance in three seasons after finishing 9-6 overall and 4-2 in the Freedom. 

Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students.

Top-seeded Eastern will host King's in Wednesday's other semifinal.

MU enters the post-season on a three-game winning streak, including a 9-6 win at FDU-Florham in the regular season finale four days ago.

The Cougars rely on a stingy defense that topped the Freedom with a 7.00 goals against average.  Senior goalie Patrick Johnson led the Freedom in GAA (6.92) and save percentage (65.7).

Pat Kellish has 55 points (37g, 18a) to lead an attack that features five players with at least 20 goals.

Lane Kocovsky (27g, 18a) and Chris Fleming (27g, 13a) both have 27 goals while Andrew Reynolds and Brandon Winslow have scored 24 and 23, respectively.

Reynolds is MU's top face-off man at 56.9% (132-232) and has a team-high 78 groundballs.

Fleming adds 44 groundballs while Patrick Newins has 39 groundballs and a team-high 26 caused turnovers.

The Devils are 8-6 overall and finished tied with MU at 4-2 in the Freedom.

Daniel Minnich leads FDU-Florham in scoring with 42 points (21g, 21a) while Conner Evans is allowing 8.75 goals per game with a 52.9 save percentage.

The Misericordia/FDU-Florham winner will advance to Saturday's Freedom title game against the Eastern/King's winner.
