Box Score The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead on their way to a 13-4 victory at Wesley, Wednesday evening.
Liz Mulvey scored three goals and assisted another,
Ashley Hobbs scored twice and
Erin Baker had one assist.
The rest of the MU offense was provided by first-years scoring their first career points:
Cara Spector scored twice and dished out an assist,
Emily Russin scored two goals,
Olivia Garcia tallied a goal and an assist while
Lindsay McKim Megan Peace, and
Kate Raab all netted once.
Katie McLoughlin and
Jenn Gazdick teamed up to make 11 saves.
Hobbs had five draw controls while McKim had three draw controls and two groundballs.
Rabb opened the scoring for MU off an assist from Spector.
Spector then found the back of the net herself under a minute later to put MU up 2-0 three minutes into the game.
Russin scored back to back goals, but Wesley got one back to leave the score at 4-1 midway through the half.
Spector scored on a free position shot with seven minutes to go; then McKim beat the buzzer scoring a goal with three seconds to go half which gave MU a 6-1 lead going into halftime.
MU outscored Wesley 7-3 in the second half off goals from Mulvey (three), Hobbs (two), Raab and Peace.
MU outshot the Wolverines 30-23 and had less turnovers, 19 to Wesley's 26.
MU moves to 1-1 on the year and travels to Flordia to play Widener, Tuesday at 3:00.
