MU Men's Lax Hosting King's in MAC Freedom Semi

The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team will host King's in a MAC Freedom semifinal, Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Mangelsdorf Field.
 
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students.
 
The Cougars of head coach Jim Ricardo finished 13-1 during the regular season to tie the school record for wins in a season.
 
The defending MAC Freedom champions, Misericordia was 6-1 in league play, including a thrilling 8-6 win over King's a week ago.
 
Top-seeded Eastern will host Manhattanville in the other semifinal with the winners advancing to Saturday's championship game.
 
Misericordia is making its fifth appearance in the MAC Freedom tournament in the last six years.  The Cougars have advanced to the championship game four times, including the last three seasons.
 
Patrick Kellish, Misericordia's all-time leader in goals and points, is the team's top scorer with 63 points on 45 goals and 18 assists. 
 
Chris Fleming is second on the team with 44 points on 31 goals and 13 assists and scored his 200th career point in a win over King's a week ago.
 
Brandon Winslow adds 18 goals while Paul Hanrahan and Patrick Luzzi have both scored 17.
 
John Tierney anchors a defense that allows just 6.93 goals per game with 39 ground balls and a team-high 28 caused turnovers.
 
Antonio Whyte is 6-0 in goal with a 7.26 goals against average.  Ryan Romaine has won 56.5% of his face-offs and has a team-high 55 ground balls.
 
The Monarchs are 8-9 overall and seeded third after finishing 3-4 in the MAC Freedom.  Brock Johnson leads the team in scoring with 39 points on 18 goals and 21 assists.
 
Shawn Dickey has scored a team-high 23 goals while Nick Foley has won 57.7% of his face-offs and leads the team with 102 ground balls.
 
Brett Basile is allowing 9.05 goals per game.
