Box Score The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 in the MAC Freedom with a 14-10 win over DeSales, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Molly Celesky led the Cougars with three goals and
Emily Baro and
Rachel Shook added two goals and two assists each.
Kyle Cush,
Skylar Dowling and
Melanie Carbo all scored twice.
Michelle Torzilli had a team-high seven draw controls and Shook added five.
Lena Conway made two saves while allowing four goals in the first half to earn the win while
Madelyn Uetz made five saves and allowed six goals in the second half.
MU won the first seven draw controls and led 4-3 after the first quarter.
The Cougars out scored the Bulldogs 5-1 in the second quarter, including four straight over the final 3:54.Â
Emily Baro pulled up on a free position shot to find Genevieve Baro near the left post to give MU a 6-4 lead.
Kylee Cush added a extra-man goal with 2:17 to go and Baro found Celesky in stride down the middle for an 8-4 lead with 1:11 to go. Celesky bounced in a free position shot with :11 remaining to give MU a 9-4 halftime lead.
Melanie Carbo beat a defender near the right post with 5:12 to play in the third quarter and then placed a shot in the top right corner to beat the shot clock and stretch the lead to 13-5 with 2:51 to go in the third quarter.
DeSales scored four goals over the final 10:31.
The Cougars won their third straight game to improve to 6-6 overall.
