The Misericordia University baseball team swept a Freedom Conference doubleheader from Delaware Valley, 6-5, 9-4, Sunday.
Andres Gonzalez hit a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth as the Cougars rallied to win the opener.
Jamie Philippi had two hits and
Brandon Calafut had two hits and drove in three runs.
Max Weintraub worked three shutout innings to pick up the win in relief of
Steve Peet.
Philippi had for RBI in the nightcap and
Nate Newman added three hits.
Philippi's two-run single highlighted a three-run eighth inning.
Ryan Dauley allowed just one hit in 4.2 innings of relief to earn the win.
MU is 14-11 overall and 3-4 in the Freedom Conference. The Cougars will play Marywood at PNC Field Monday at 4:00.
