Box Score The Misericordia University football dropped its final road game of the season, 48-0, Saturday afternoon at Albright.
Albright used a balanced offensive attack while holding the Cougars to just two first downs on the day.
Michael Pheasant made his collegiate start at quarterback for the Cougars and was three-for-eight through the air.
Juwan Petties-Jackson was on the receiving end of all three completions for 27 yards.
Phil Arnold, Hunter Pate and
Sean Weg led the MU defense with five tackles while
Tim Martin and
Jake Livingston added four stops each.
After forcing the Lions to punt on the game's first possession, the Cougars went three-and-out on their first drive as well.
Albright scored on the ensuing drive to take a 7-0 lead and added a touchdown on its next series to take a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
MU picked up a first down on its first drive of the second quarter, but the Cougars were forced to punt from their own 36.
Misericordia forced an Albright punt and took over at their own 43 with 10:17 to go in the first half. Pheasant found Petties-Jackson for a 17-yard gain on third down to pick up a first down at the Albright 39.
The drive stalled as the Cougars turned the ball over on downs at the Albright 32.
Albright used to big pass plays to ignite a scoring drive to stretch the lead to 21-0 at halftime.
The Lions ran back a punt for a score to start the third quarter and used two big runs from Ty Hughes to make it 35-0 with 10:16 left in the period.
Misericordia will wrap up its inaugural season when they host Lycoming, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.
