Kyle Gallagher has joined the Misericordia University football coach staff as offensive coordinator, head coach Steve Cushing has announced.

"I am incredibly excited for Coach Gallagher to join our staff at Misericordia," said Cushing.  "He is a bright and creative offensive mind as well as a great teacher. His attention to detail and relationship driven mindset has put our offensive unit in great hands. I am looking forward to him leading our offense for years to come."

Gallagher spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at SUNY Cortland where he led the Red Dragons to the 2023 NCAA D-III national championship and three Empire 8 league titles.

"I'm truly excited and grateful for the opportunity to join Misericordia University as the new Offensive Coordinator and it's an honor to continue working alongside Coach Cushing," said Gallagher.  "Misericordia's dedication to athletics aligns with my coaching philosophy, and I'm thrilled to contribute to that mission."

At Cortland, Gallagher served as wide receivers coach and also compiled an 8-1 record as head coach/offensive coordinator of the junior varsity team.

He coached 10 all-conference selections, four all-region players and one All-American at Cortland, including two players who reached the NFL.

"With the talented student-athletes on the roster, I'm confident we will continue to build a program that makes this community proud," said Gallagher.  "Our goal is to develop a physical team to lay a strong foundation for the future of the program. I'm excited for the journey ahead and honored to be part of a team committed to excellence, both on and off the field."

In addition, he spent one season as an assistant coach with the Virginia Armada of Major League Football.

Gallagher earned his bachelor's degree in industrial labor relations from Cornell and earned his master's degree in management studies from Duke.

He was a two-year letterman at quarterback at Cornell as well as a rightfielder on the Big Red baseball team.  He played one season of baseball at Duke.
